The Walk and Talk Poetry Project will support participants to re-engage with others after a long period of isolation. The project will enable people who are fearful and anxious about meeting up with others to do so, outside, in a very small group, and enjoy local areas of natural beauty and learn about poetry.
The project will be designed specifically for adults with learning disabilities/difficulties.
The Walk and Talk Poetry sessions will help reduce fears and anxieties about meeting others again and will enable friendships to reignite, connecting people back together, so that they feel better equipped to reintegrate more fully to their local communities.
By facilitating people to rebuild the relationships they once enjoyed it is hoped they will find increased confidence and improved wellbeing by engaging in nature and poetry.
